Let’s get to know each other.
“There is beauty to be found in the pain. Life is brutal, but it's also beautiful. Life is Brutiful.”
-Glennon Doyle
You know how after a break up, every sad song reminds you of your ex? Well for me, every sad song reminds me of my traumatic birth experience in 2016. Afterwards, I felt confused and alone, and I knew that I would never be the same. Since that time, I’ve been learning about myself and the world around me through a new lens - as a survivor, a teacher, and a mother.
For more insight into my journey, check out my memoir and essays on Substack.
Today I am a writer, a kids yoga teacher, and a birth doula. I process my own pain through nature (ie walking outside with my hand weights), music (ie dancing in my kitchen when I’m supposed to be doing dishes), and comedy (laughter does really feel like the best medicine sometimes). My favorite hobby is going to bed early, and I can’t have a conversation without mentioning a podcast I recently listened to. I live in Glenside with my husband and three amazing kids. (…alright, I guess my husband is amazing too.)
