Frequently Asked Questions

I believe birth can be an uninhibited physiological process - AND I know first hand that sometimes, we can depend on medical intervention for the best outcomes for mom and baby. I believe in bringing emotional support and rituals into birthing environments that often make us feel as if we have no choice or autonomy. My services might be especially helpful for those that:
are planning a scheduled c-section
have a history of a cesarean and are deciding between a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) and RCS (repeat c-section)
have a history of birth or medical trauma
-
Trauma can be defined by you and how you felt during the experience - there are no specific events that are considered “traumatic.” Trauma can be caused by: a medical event, a provider speaking to you in a disrespectful way, outside circumstances (ex: giving birth during the COVID pandemic), a very quick labor or very long labor, or any unexpected diagnosis or scenarios. I will never tell someone if their birth was traumatic or not, and will never compare your story to others - we all experience our births through our lease of experience, and yours is valid. Let’s chat to see if we’d be a good fit!

Bringing a baby into the world is a magnificent thing - and it should be honored as such. You are literally opening yourself up to give your baby life! How we honor that is up to you - I can guide you in exploring your options and support you in processing any feelings that come up. Check out my scheduled cesarean package for more info.

Yes, please contact me! Even if you are already working with another doula and are interested in my support, we could discuss a package that includes the number of meetings you prefer (or have time for), and whether in-person support is something you need. Let’s chat!

Of course we cannot control birth - like most things in life, it will unfold on its own path. However - we can be educated and informed as a way to understand what could happen, and explore options along the way. Also - doula support means stepping up to walk beside you if things don’t go as you’d hoped. We can instill love, celebration, ritual, and compassion to all birth - however it unfolds.

Kiddos learn best when they are moving and engaging in age appropriate ways. In addition to breathing, mindfulness, and simple yoga poses, I incorporate stories, songs, and crafting in the Big Siblings program. Check out my events page to find the next offering!
